DECLARING MONDAY, MAY 14, 2001, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC (NON-WORKING) HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

WHEREAS, the national and local elections all be held on Monday, May 14, 2001;

WHEREAS, Monday, May 14, 2001, should be declared a special public (non-working) holiday to give the people the fullest opportunity to participate in the said elections;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, May 14, 2001, as a special public (non-working) holiday throughout the country

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed
