[ Proclamation No. 432, January 11, 2001 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, JANUARY 12, 2001, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF VALENCIA, PROVINCE OF BUKIDNON

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8985 provides for the conversion of the Municipality of Valencia, Bukidnon into a component city to be known as the City of Valencia and mandates the holding of plebiscite for the ratification thereof;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections, in its Resolution No. 3465 dated January 9, 2001, has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the conversion of the said municipality on Friday, January 12, 2001;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipality to actively participate in the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the plebiscite day as a special day.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, January 12, 2001, as a special day in the Municipality of Valencia, Bukidnon.
