[ Proclamation No. 29, April 20, 2001 ]

DECLARING SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2001, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MALABON, METRO MANILA

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9019 dated March 3, 2001, provides for the conversion of the Municipality of Malabon, Metro Manila into a highly urbanized city to be known as the City of Malabon and mandates the holding of plebiscite for the ratification thereof;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the conversion of the said municipality on Saturday, April 21, 2001;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipality to actively participate in the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the plebiscite day as a special day.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Saturday, April 21, 2001, as a special day in the Municipality of Malabon, Metro Manila.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
