[ Proclamation No. 1, February 3, 2001 ]

DECLARING SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2001, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8990 dated January 5, 2001, provides for the conversion of the Municipality of San Fernando Pampanga into a component city to be known as the City of San Fernando and mandates the holding of a plebiscite for the ratification thereof;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections, in its Resolution No. 3521 dated January 31, 2001, has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the conversion of the said municipality on Saturday, February 3, 2001;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipality to actively participate in the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the plebiscite day as a special day.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare, Saturday, February 3, 2001, as a special day in the Municipality of San Fernando, Pampanga.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
