DECLARING A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE PROVINCES OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, CAPIZ, AKLAN, ANTIQUE AND CAMIGUIN

Upon recommendation of the Acting Secretary of National Defense, as Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council, and by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare a state of calamity in the provinces of Negros Occidental, Capiz, Aklan, Antique and Camiguin in view of the extensive damage to lives and properties and massive displacement of families caused by the tropical storm “Nanang”.

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with the occurrence of calamities.
