DECLARING THE SECOND WEEK OF NOVEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS “NATIONAL SKIN DISEASE DETECTION AND PREVENTION WEEK”

WHEREAS, the skin is the largest organ system of the body and its diseases and care need to be adequately addressed;

WHEREAS, there is a need to uplift the health status of the Filipinos through early detection and prevention of skin diseases;

WHEREAS, physicians need to continuously update their knowledge pertaining to the skin and its diseases through research and continuing medical education;

WHEREAS, the celebration of “NATIONAL SKIN DISEASE DETECTION AND PREVENTION WEEK” will educate the public on the importance of self-examination, adequate skin care, early consultation with dermatologists for proper management of skin diseases;

WHEREAS, the successful observance of the event will require the support of the government and the people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the second week of November of every year as “NATIONAL SKIN DISEASE DETECTION AND PREVENTION WEEK” under the auspices of the Philippine Dermatological Society.1aшphi1
