[ Proclamation No. 103, September 24, 2001 ]

DECLARING SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2001, AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PAGLAT, MAGUINDANAO

WHEREAS, Muslim Mindanao Autonomy Act 112 provides for the conversion of the Municipality of Paglat into a component city to be known as the City of Paglat and mandates the holding of a plebiscite for the ratification thereof;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections, in its Resolution No. 4581 dated September 6, 2001, has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the conversion of the said municipality on Saturday, September 29, 2001;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipality to actively participate in the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the plebiscite day as a special non-working day;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Saturday, September 29, 2001, as a special non-working day in the Municipality of Paglat, Maguindanao.
