[ Proclamation No. 1080, September 18, 1972 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 8 TO 15, 1972, AS PHILIPPINE LIONS SERVICE WEEK.

WHEREAS, October 8, 1972, has been declared as World Lions Service Day during which millions of Lions Clubs members all over the world will re-dedicate themselves towards rendering humanitarian service to their fellowmen; and

WHEREAS, the Lions Clubs of the Philippines desire to commemorate the World Lions Service Day by making all their members throughout the country and the public as well aware of the need to work hand in hand in the great task of nation building, and give support to the country’s effort towards reconstruction and rehabilitation from the recent calamities that brought a setback in the nation’s struggle for progress;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from October 8 to 15, 1972, as Philippine Lions Service Week.
