[ Proclamation No. 1006, May 8, 1972 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE TUBERCULOSIS SOCIETY, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1 TO OCTOBER 31, 1972.

WHEREAS, tuberculosis continues to sap the vitality of the Filipino people, hampering the social advancement of the masses and seriously curtailing the economic productivity of the nation;

WHEREAS, the national government and the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc., have been steadfast partners in the common effort for the control of the White Plague, particularly in extending medical, social and educational services to the afflicted; and

WHEREAS, these indispensable services can be continued only with the moral and financial support of a concerned citizenry;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. REYES, Acting Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc., to conduct its National Educational and Fund Campaign during the period from July 1 to October 31, 1972.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, regardless of nationality or creed, to give generously of their means to this charitable endeavor so as to consolidate gains thus far attained in the TB control program, and to enhance public health.1aшphi1
