DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 11 TO 17, 1960, AS NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK AND CREATING A COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF ITS OBSERVANCE

In order to give impetus to the role of science in the economic development of the country, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from July 11 to 17, 1960, as National Science and Technology Week, to be observed throughout the country in schools, colleges, universities and scientific and technical institutions, industrial firms, and societies with appropriate ceremoinies, under the sponsorship of the National Science Development Board.

The following are hereby designated members of a committee to take charge of the national observance of the week with particular emphasis on the national scientific and technological research program:

The Secretary of Agricultural und Natural Resources Member

The President, National Press Club of the Philippines Member
The Chairman, National Research Council of the Philippines Member
The President, Chamber of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the Philippines Member
The President, Philippine Chamber of Industries Member
The President, Science Foundation of the Philippines Member
