DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 5 TO 11, 1959, AS NATIONAL PRINTING WEEK

WHEREAS, printing is one of the main sources of knowledge and of the progress of mankind;

WHEREAS, printing constitutes one of the major manufacturing industries of the nation and contributes in no small degree, not only to the cultural and spiritual wealth of the people through the dissemination of ideas, but also to the economic wealth and advancement of the nation; and

WHEREAS, the continued growth and prosperity of the printing industry are of paramount importance to our people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CARLOS P. GARCIA, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from July 5 to 11, 1959, as National Printing Week and designate the Filipino Printers Association to take charge of its celebration. I enjoin all the people to pay tribute to the art of printing and the graphic arts industries for the great contributions they have given to our nation and to all mankind.1aшphi1
