DECLARING FRIDAY, JUNE 19, 1959, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY

WHEREAS, June 19, 1959, marks the ninety-eighth birthday of Jose Rizal, our greatest hero and patriot; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people be given full opportunity to celebrate the day with appropriate ceremonies in keeping with his ideals and teachings;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CARLOS P. GARCIA, President of the Philippines, by’ virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Friday, June 19, 1959, as a special public holiday.
