DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 13 TO 19, 1959, AS NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK AND CREATING A COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF ITS OBSERVANCE

In order to give impetus to the role of science in the economic development of the country, I, CARLOS P. GARCIA, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from July 13 to 19, 1959, as National Science and Technology Week, to be observed throughout the country in schools, colleges, universities, scientific and technical institutions, industrial firms, and societies with appropriate ceremonies, under the sponsorship of the National Science Development Board.

The following are hereby designated members of a committee to take charge of the national observance of the week with particular emphasis on the national scientific and technological research program:
