Proclamation No. 530

PROCLAIMING THE OFFICIAL POPULATION OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF THE PHILIPPINES

For the uniform guidance of the different branches and offices of the Commonwealth, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim and declare that the official population of the Commonwealth of the Philippines was 16,000,303 on January 1, 1939, according to the census taken pursuant to the provisions of Commonwealth Act No. 170, and that the official population of each province, chartered city, municipality and municipal district was as stated in Special Bulletin No. 1, entitled "Census of the Philippines: 1939, Population by Provinces and Municipalities": Provided, That in connection with the apportionment of internal-revenue collections among provinces, cities, municipalities and municipal districts, this proclamation shall not be considered effective until July 1, 1940.

Proclamation No. 505 dated January 23, 1940, is hereby revoked.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done at the City of Manila, this first day of April, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the fifth.
