Proclamation No. 105
DECLARING NOVEMBER 15, 1936, A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY
Whereas, November fifteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-five, was the day that saw the birth of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, marking thereby a milestone in the political life of the Filipino people; and
Whereas, it is but fitting and proper the during this year said day be declared a special public holiday so that the spirit of the occasion may be preserved in the memory of our people;
Now, therefore, in commemoration of that historical event, and pursuant to the provisions of section thirty of the Revised Administrative Code, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim November fifteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-six, a special public holiday, and pursuant to the provisions of section twenty-nine of the same Code, inasmuch as November fifteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-six, falls on Sunday, I hereby authorize the observance of the next succeeding day as a legal holiday.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done at the City of Manila, this thirteenth day of November, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-six and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the first.
