Proclamation No. 17

EXTENDING THE PERIOD OF SPECIAL SESSION TO DECEMBER

Whereas, by Proclamation No. 2 issued November 21, 1935, the National Assembly was called in special session for a period of fifteen days commencing on Monday, November 25th, for the purpose of considering and passing such measures as may be submitted to it by the President of the Philippines;

Whereas, by Proclamation No. 12 issued on December 11, 1935, the said period of special session was extended to the 20th day of December, 1935;

Whereas, in order to dispose of important and urgent legislation now pending consideration by the National Assembly, it is found necessary to further extend the period of said special session;

Now, therefore, pursuant to the powers conferred upon me by the Constitution and by existing laws, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, hereby extend the period of special session of the National Assembly, duly called in Proclamation No. 2, to the 21st day of December, 1935.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done at the City of Manila, this twentieth day of December, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-five, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the first.
