CREATING A SUB-COMMITTEE ON INVENTORY OF PASSENGERS OF M/V DOŅA PAZ TO FURTHER ASSIST THE RELATIVES OF VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS

WHEREAS, there is a need to facilitate and expedite the identification of recipients of “Bigay-Puso Fund” and other legal claims of survivors and victims of the M/V Doņa Paz and M/T Vector collision.

WHEREFORE, a Sub-Committee on Inventory of Passengers of M/V Doņa Paz is hereby created.

The Sub-Committee shall be composed of the following:

The Representative of the Citizen’s Legal Assistance Office (CLAO) Chairman
A Representative from the Department of  Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Member
A Representative from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Member
A Representative from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Member
A Representative from the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) Member
A Representative from the “Bulig-Bulig Kita” (BBK) Member
A Representative from the Coalition of Samar-Leyte Organization (CSLO) Member

The Sub-Committee shall have the following powers and functions:

1. Coordinate and integrate all efforts of both the government and private sectors in dealing with the problem of identifying the passengers of the M/V Doņa Paz;

2. Formulate a uniform set of policies and guidelines for the inventory and identification of passengers of the M/V Doņa Paz;

3. Provide a forum for discussion and/or resolution of all issues/problems and/or conflicts that may arise between or among claimants insofar as these relate to the inventory and identification of passengers of the M/V Doņa Paz; and

4. Request the assistance of any department, bureau, office or agency, as may be necessary to enable the Sub-Committee to perform and accomplish its duties and responsibilities.1aшphi1
