[ Memorandum Order No. 70-A, February 17, 1987 ]

MODIFYING MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 70 AUTHORIZING THE SECRETARY OF GENERAL SERVICES TO PROVIDE ACCOMMODATIONS FOR, AND MAKE PREPARATIONS FOR THE CONVENING OF, THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES.

Memorandum Order No. 70 is hereby modified to the extent that page two thereof shall read as follows:

3. To make renovations, repairs and improvements on the Batasang Pambansa Complex in order to provide sufficient accommodations for the Members of the House of Representatives, their staffs and the Secretariat as well as adequate function rooms for committees and other offices of the House of Representatives. For the same purpose, he shall likewise make renovations of, repairs and improvements on the National Capital Region Building of the Commission on Audit for the Senate and its committees, the staffs of the Senators and the Secretariat and function rooms and other offices.

4. To purchase and acquire such equipment, furniture, airconditioning units, computers and micro-processors, and other facilities as may be needed by both houses of the Congress of the Philippines and cause the repair of furniture, equipment and facilities of the Batasang Pambansa Complex.

He may call upon any ministry, bureau, office, agency or instrumentality of the National Government for such assistance as may be needed.1aшphi1

The Secretary of the Budget shall provide such funds as may be necessary to carry into effect the provisions of this Memorandum Order.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
