[ Memorandum Order No. 129, November 12, 1987 ]

Pursuant to Article IX(C), Section 2(4) of the 1987 Constitution, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, do hereby concur with Resolution No. 1926 of the Commission on Elections, promulgated on November 4, 1987, deputizing, during the election period, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Constabulary/Integrated National Police; National Bureau of Investigation, other national or local law enforcement agencies and instrumentalities, all departments, bureaus, offices or agencies of the Government including government-owned or controlled corporations and flag-carriers, and all officials and employees thereof, for the exclusive purpose of ensuring the free, orderly, honest, peaceful and credible special registration of voters on November 28, 1987, and local elections on January 18, 1988.

All government agencies, officials and employees deputized by the Commission on Elections pursuant to this Memorandum Order are hereby directed to coordinate and cooperate with the Commission on Elections in the performance of their respective duties and functions.

This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately.
