[ Memorandum Order No. 727, June 5, 1981 ]

ENJOINING ALL HEADS OF OFFICES IN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT PROPER AND OF THE AGENCIES UNDER OR ATTACHED TO IT TO TAKE APPROPRIATE STEPS TO IMPLEMENT LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 1137, DATED MAY 28, 1981.

In view of the significance of the Presidential Election on June 16, 1981, and to counteract the boycott moves of some sectors of our society, the President Issued letter of Instructions No. 1137, reminding all officials and employees of their obligation to register and cast their votes and of the penalties provided by law for failure to do so which include, among others, disqualification to hold public office for a period of six years. The Instructions also direct them to join and participate in the campaign for registration and massive turnout of voters during the election and call upon the officers and members of the Career Executive Service Development Program Alumni Association to lead in the campaign.

Accordingly, all heads of offices in the Office of the President Proper, and of the agencies attached to or under it, are hereby directed to meet with their officials and employees to explain and discuss with them the provisions of Letter of Instructions No. 1137 and to take such other steps, as may be necessary to insure compliance therewith.

Report of the implementation of this Order shall be submitted to this Office not later than ten days after the election.1aшphi1
