CREATING AN AD HOC STUDY COMMITTEE ON THE PHILIPPINE MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY

There is hereby created an Ad Hoc Study Committee to review and assess various proposals relating to the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy to be composed of the following:

1. Mr. Generoso Tanseco Chairman
2. Capt. Abraham Campo Member
3. Philippine Merchant Marine Academy representative Member

The Committee will study, among others, the feasibility of ending government subsidies to the Academy, in favor of increased participation by private shipping companies or associations, and the feasibility of transferring its site from Fort Bonifacio to a suitable location in Mindanao, as has been proposed by several sectors.1aшphi1

In the performance of its functions, the Committee may call upon any department, bureau, office, agency or instrumentality of the government, including government-owned or controlled corporations, for such assistance as it may need.

The Committee shall submit its report and recommendations to this Office of the President as soon as possible.
