[ Memorandum Order No. 190, July 28, 1970 ]

CREATING IN THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE A UNIT TO MAKE DIGESTS, COMPILATION AND CLASSIFICATION OF IMPORTANT RULINGS, ACTIONS, DECISIONS, DIRECTIVES, ETC., OF THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.

In order to make important rulings, actions and decisions of the Office of the President, as well as executive orders, proclamations and other presidential issuances, easily available for reference purposes, guidance and coordination, there is hereby created in the Executive Office a unit to be known as Digest and Index Unit, the functions of which shall be as follows:

1. To make digests, in syllabus form, of important rulings, actions, decisions and directives which are not of a confidential character;

2. To prepare and maintain a continuing and updated subject index of executive orders, proclamations, administrative orders and other issuances, orders or circulars issued by or under the authority of the President;

3. To compile and consolidate such digests and index and device or adopt a systematic filing system thereof; and

4. To furnish periodically the Malacaņang Library and, upon request, other organizational units of the Office with copies of consolidated digests and index mentioned in No. 3, above.

The Unit shall be composed of representatives from the Legal Office, Administrative Office, Local Governments, Cabinet Secretariat, Staff Secretariat, Finance Office and such other personnel as may be designated or appointed by the Executive Secretary, who shall name the head thereof.

For administrative purposes, the Unit shall be under the Executive Secretary.

The Records Office shall immediately furnish the Digest and Index Unit with copies of the actions, decisions and other materials mentioned herein.1aшphi1

Memorandum Order No. 1, s. 1958, as amended is hereby further amended accordingly.
