PRESCRIBING CERTAIN LIMITATIONS ON THE PAYMENT OF MEAL ALLOWANCE FOR OVERTIME SERVICE.

For budgetary reasons, the following limitations on the payment of meal allowance for overtime service rendered in this Office are hereby prescribed effective February 1, 1967:

1. Chiefs of Divisions and Primary Units are hereby enjoined to reduce to the barest minimum the number of employees under them who may render overtime service with meal allowance.

2. Employees authorized to render overtime service with meal allowance shall be granted only one (l) meal unit per day, even on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Chiefs of the Divisions and Primary Units where stand-by personnel are required during Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, shall schedule by shifts the employees concerned such that there will be employees assigned the whole day.1aшphi1

3. Officials and employees authorized to draw transportation and/or representation allowances, as well as those with salary of ?500 or above per month who may be required to render overtime service, shall not be entitled to collect meal allowance.

This Order shall not preclude any official or employee from rendering voluntary service beyond the regular office hours and during Saturdays, Sundays and holidays in order to keep his work up-to-date.
