DESIGNATING SOLICITOR JORGE COQUIA AS INVESTIGATOR OF THE PHILIPPINE VIRGINIA TOBACCO ADMINISTRATION.

In the interest of the public service, Solicitor Jorge Coquia is hereby designated to conduct a thorough investigation into the general affairs of the Philippine Virginia Tobacco Administration (PVTA) and the reported anomalies and irregularities committed by some officials and employees thereof.

The above-named investigator is hereby granted all the powers under the provisions of Section 71 and 580 of the Revised Administrative Code, including the power to summon witnesses, administer oaths and take testimony or evidence relevant to the investigation. He is further authorized to examine and take into custody documents and records, inspect the buildings and warehouses of the PVTA and take such other steps as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of the investigation.

Said investigator shall submit his report and recommendations as soon as possible.1aшphi1

The officials and employees of the PVTA are enjoined to extend their full cooperation to the investigator.
