[ Memorandum Order No. 106, November 18, 1964 ]

CREATING A COMMITTEE TO FIND WAYS AND MEANS BY WHICH THE GOVERNMENT COULD PURCHASE IBM OR SIMILAR MACHINES.

Upon the recommendation of the Presidential Committee created under Executive Order No. 40 dated June 1, 1963, a committee is hereby created to find ways and means by which the government could purchase IBM or similar machines for its use and employ its own personnel to handle its maintenance and operation, instead of hiring such machines which is expensive to the government.

The Committee shall be composed of the following:

Assistant Executive Secretary Armand Fabella Chairman
A representative of the Auditor General Member
A representative of the Secretary of Justice
A representative of the Department of General Services Member

The Committee is hereby authorized to call upon any department, bureau, office, agency, or instrumentality of the government, including government-owned or controlled corporations, for such assistance as it may need in the performance of its duties.

The Committee shall submit its report and recommendation as soon as possible.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
