[ Executive Order No. 23-A, August 3, 2001 ]

AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 23 DATED JULY 6, 2001 TO INCLUDE THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY AS MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL ANTI-CRIME COMMISSION

WHEREAS, by virtue of Executive Order No. 23 dated July 6, 2001, the National Anti-Crime Commission was created under the Office of the President to formulate policies, develop modes for coordination and monitor implementation with regard to efforts in preventing and combating crime;

WHEREAS, under Section 31, Chapter 10, Title III, Book III of the Administrative Code of 1987, the President has the continuing authority to reorganize her office.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. Section 2 of Executive Order No. 23 dated July 6, 2001 is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 2. Composition. – The NACC shall be composed of the following:

Secretary of Justice Chairman
Executive Secretary Member
Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Member
Secretary of National Defense Member
National Security Adviser Member
Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines Member
Director-General, Philippine National Police Member
Director, National Bureau of Investigation Member
Chief State Prosecutor, National Prosecution Service Member
Three (3) private sector representatives Members

The private sector representatives shall be appointed by the President.”

Section 2. All orders, rules, regulations and issuances, or parts thereof, which are inconsistent with this Executive Order, are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.1aшphi1

Section 3. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately upon approval.
