EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 343 December 19, 1988

RECONSTITUTING THE COMMISSION ON EXPORT PROCEDURES

WHEREAS, a competitive export industry requires the acceleration of agricultural development, a sound and efficient fiscal/tax policies, and an efficient/viable/ dependable transportation and communications network;

WHEREAS, the direct participation of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Finance (DOF), and Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) in the development and growth of the country's export trade industry are vital; and

WHEREAS, the inclusion of the DA, DOF, and DOTC in the composition of the Commission on Export Procedures created under Executive Order No. 843, series of 1982, to study, review, revise, amend, introduce innovations, simplify, and consolidate rules and regulations to expedite the exportation of products will facilitate the carrying out of the Commission's mandate.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Sec. 1. The Secretary of Agriculture, the Secretary of Finance, and the Secretary of Transportation and Communications are hereby included in the membership of the Commission on Export Procedures.

Sec. 2. The Secretary of Trade and Industry shall remain as Chairman of the Commission.

Sec. 3. All rules and regulations and other issuances or parts thereof contrary to or inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

Sec. 4. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
